NYE

I am on holiday at the moment in Dubai for New Years Eve. Having an amazing time and thought I would share my outfit for the night. I chose to wear a simple black dress from Marks & Spencer, yes I know everyone says it's for older people but I can't help finding clothes I love in there! I paired it with some simple beige/grey heels, a beige snake skin look bag and a statement necklace to finish the look. Hope you all have a wonderful night and happy new year!

Christmassy Nails

Just a quick post tonight guys. Just wanted to show off my nails that I have just had done. I wanted something that looked slightly Christmassy but not full on as I am going to Dubai on Boxing Day! I love the colour as it is a deep pink and the gold glitter on top just gives it's that finishing touch with a Christmas feel.

Hope you all have a lovely Christmas and a happy new year.

My travels in Florence

Hey guys so sorry I haven't posted about my University trip to Florence, just been so busy with Uni work (yep my excuse again!). So I had the most amazing time out there and met some lovely people.

We arrived on the Wednesday afternoon and had a wonder around and basically explored the amazing city. I saw the Duomo which is the big cathedral in the centre of Florence. It was so beautiful and had the most amazing architecture. Me and a group of friends went to eat at this lovely (quite posh) restaurant and I had mushroom and truffle tagliatelle which tasted so good and one of the best things I have tasted. We also found a Hard Rock Cafe and they were doing half price cocktails (bonus!).

On the Thursday two museums were booked as part of the trip, the Gucci  Museum and the Salvatore Ferragamo Museum. They were both really interesting, explaining about the designer as well showcasing their collections. I absolutely loved the Gucci Museum, we had a guided tour and were able to see all of his different collections and what he is famous for.

We had more time on Thursday to explore the beautiful city, we went over a bridge which had just jewellery shops on which was cute and pretty. The views were amazing and the architecture was like nothing I have ever seen before.

In the evening a group of us went out to a really nice mozzarella bar restaurant and had cocktails and food which was lovely. We then went to an Irish bar where we met some Americans and then ended up spending the night there which was fun.

On the Friday which was my last full day in Florence, we continued to explore the wonderful city. We looked around the shops, visited the Duomo cathedral and the Uffizi which is famous in Florence for its renaissance art. In the evening we all went for a meal at the Hard Rock Cafe.

On Saturday, we left for Birmingham. However, we had a couple of hours in the morning where we visited this amazing food market. I hadn't had a pizza the whole trip and I knew I needed to have one before I left. Me and my friend shared the most delicious cheese pizza and I wish I could have another right now!

Overall, I had the most amazing time in this beautiful city and met some wonderful people.

On Wednesday I will be flying out to Florence, Italy for a University Trip. I am so excited and cannot wait to visit the beautiful city. We have a couple of things planned including visiting the Gucci Museum which is going to be so insightful and interesting. I am really looking forward to looking around all the lovely vintage and leather markets and of course visiting the historical town of Duomo.

Looking forward to telling you all about my Uni Travels when I get back on Saturday!

Stay Positive

Just a quick post tonight. I am finding my new uni assignment very difficult. It is called Trends Forecasting and we have to look at what is going on in the world and create a trend based on this. There has to be a variety of things that link to make the trend. It is so hard to find all the information!

I found this quote on Pinterest and thought it was perfect to help me get through when I think I'm struggling. You just have to put your mind to it and stay positive. I can and I will do it!

Mad PR Gifting Suite

Sorry I haven't posted in a while been so busy settling into University and just finished my first module which I explained in the last post. Yesterday I was lucky enough to be a part of Mad PR's gifting suite by helping at the event. The owner of Mad PR is one my lecturers at uni and wanted some students to assist at the event. I was one of the lucky people to win the video competition and was able to work at the event.

It was truly an amazing day but very tiring as I was up at 5am! I got a real insight into the world of PR and also met some celebs and bloggers as well as getting some amazing free goodies. I was working on the Love Fashion stand, the brand is very girly with lovely pieces of clothing. My favourite items were the three piece black and white co-ord outfit as it was so classic and you could wear it with anything. I had my eye on an autumnal floral dress all day as it was my favourite piece, luckily there was one left at the end and all the students were able to take one piece home at the end of the event. Of course I chose the dress!

I was also lucky enough to take some fake tan products from both Fake Bake and SiennaX which I will definitely try out. The final product I took home was an item from Magnitone, this is a cleansing and toning facial product which I cannot wait to try out! It is a limited edition version from Pixie Lott in pink which makes it so girly.

My outfit for the event was from Marks and Spencer, I love the clothes in there at the moment especially from the Limited Collection range which is aimed at the younger market. I saw the floral blouse and knew I had to have it as I love the print and fit. My skirt has some wool in it which makes it more luxurious and I love the colour. I teamed the outfit with black tights and flat patent black shoes from Topshop.

Overall I had the most amazing experience and would love to get more involved in the world of PR.

After we finished the event, all of us went for a drink to celebrate. It was really nice to all come together at the end. London looks so pretty at night especially with all the Christmas lights and decorations.

quotes quotes quotes

I am a big fan of quotes and believe in having something to motivate you each day. I have just found this quote on Pinterest and absolutely love it. Currently, I am doing my first module of my degree in Fashion Business and Promotion. My module is called Fashion Business Context and my assignment is to create a proposal on my chosen brand and create a piece of work. I have chosen Cath Kidston and am doing a report style look book. I think this quote sums up that you have to work hard to get where yo want in life rather than it just happening. This is helping me realise that you have to work hard at University to be successful and to get that amazing career at the end.

London Fashion Weekend 2014

Hi guys, sorry I have not posted in a while been so busy settling in to uni! I am just starting my degree in Fashion Business and Promotion at Birmingham City and thought a trip to LFW would be be perfect before I started my course.  I went to LFW on the Friday with my mum which was the perfect opportunity to have some mum and daughter time before I headed off to uni.

It was amazing! There was a variety of different brands and designers as well as a selection of shoes, clothes and accessories. I bought a lovely scarf from Jane Carr which I love, the material is so soft and the colour is just perfect for me. It only cost £20 which I thought was a bargain!

I saw two catwalk shows while at LFW, one was the designer catwalk and
the other the trend catwalk. The designer catwalk was by Fyodor Golan who are best known for creating a conceptualist approach with intricate hand detailing and exquisite shape and textures.

Their pieces are very different to the work I usually like however their collection was very interesting which included bright colours and feathers.  I took this video at the end when the models were coming back out. Their collection consists a variety of textures from PVC, feathers and knit which I love as some of the pieces I have never seen anything similar before.

The trend catwalk was put together by THE OUTNET.COM which specialise in designer clothing online and have over 250 designer brands. This show was split into four trends, One and Only which is all about teaming separates in the same shade creating head-to-toes looks. Candy Crush is all about pastel colours with a grown up approach with structured silhouettes and sharp tailoring. Jungle Fever looks at earthy tones, exotic motifs and tribal/animal prints. My favourite trend is Fairytale Ending which is all about floaty gowns, delicate details and embellishment. I love how it is pretty and enchanting!

I also had my make up done at the Maybelline New York stand which as nice to be pampered and drank prosecco from the Scavi and Ray bar.

Overall I had an amazing day and cannot wait to go again in February!
