Textile Exam

I was given my exam paper for textiles last week, I have chosen to go with Combining Techniques. This will allow to basically work in any style I want. I was given 3 artists to look at, Jennifer Talbot uses techniques such as couching, knitting and building up layers of yarn. Alice Kettle creates macinhine embroidery faces with paint and Pauline Burbidge makes quilts and stitched drawings mainly in black and white with a hint of colour. I have also chosen to look at Kirsty Whitlock who uses recycled materials and stitches into them. Both Emily Notmam and Lois Heyhoe are inspired by vintage, Emily creates wall hangings and Lois creates machine embroidery faces with fibres and silks.
