Trend - Blurred Lines

I have recently been trend researching on Vogue and I love the trend blurred lines. the sheer fabric and lace is almost vinatgey and the white and pale blues are simple but effective. I particulary like the tailored jackets as they compliment the girly lace and exposed body. Burberry Prorsum SS14 Ready to Wear collection is quite subtle in exposure. The colour pallette includes dusky pinks, yellows, lilacs and pale greens/blues which work really well with the lace and sheer fabric. Recently I have fell in love with the designer Erdem, his SS14 Ready to Wear collection fits in perefectly with the trend, Blurred Lines. His pieces are quite subtle in terms of exposure with most of his collection using white sheer fabric. I particulary like one piece which has handwriting printed onto the top half of the dress which looks like it has been printed on top of lace, this adds a vintage style feel to it. His collection has a masculine structure with collar detail and structured trouser and jacket pieces. I just love this trend as it incorporates my love of lace and simple white fabrics.

Gels nails 2

I loved my first experience of gel nails as they lasted ages and didn't chip at all. By two weeks the polish starting peeling at the bottom and my nails had grown quite a bit. I decided to have it taken off and put back on. I visited a different place this time which were really good. This time I decided to go for something different with a pink colour and a silver glitter on the third finger. It still has a summery feel like the pale green but looks totally different.

Beauty - Bare Minerals Luminous Eyes

At the weekend I bought a make up pack by Bare Minerals called Luminous Eyes. It includes a mascara called Flawless Definition, eyeshadow duo pallette and a eyeshadow application brush. This pack is very good value for money at £22.50 (which included 10% off in the sale at Debenhams) as you normally pay £16 just for the mascara! The eyeshadow allows you to create a smokey look with a light beige called symphony and a darker brown colour called sonnet included. They are very easy to apply and all of their range is very good for sensitive skin. I asked the make up artist in the store to show me how to apply it properly. She told me to apply symphony all over the eye up to the brow and then add sonnet from the middle up to the crease of the lid and outwards. She then suggested an eyeliner which would work perfectly with the eyeshadow, it is called lasting line in infinite sage. It has an almost metallic look and looks really good all together with the eyeshadow which I had to buy! The pack also comes with a booklet which has two different ways to create a day and night look. Hope you find this beauty review helpful and I would definitely recommend Bare Minerals as an everyday makeup brand. Although it is quite expensive it lasts for ages and is worth the money.

Gel nails

I decided to do something different with my nails for a change and have a gel polish put on. I wanted something quite subtle so I chose to go with a light turquoise colour. The colour is perfect for spring approaching and I love pastels anyway.  I really love them, they look so shiny and natural as I didn't want to go for acrylics.

Baby shower cake

I created this cake for a friend who is having a baby girl for a suprise baby shower. The cake is three layers made of vanilla sponge and sandwiched together with strawberry jam. I then covered the cake in baby pink frosting and decorated it with white edible sugar feet and a clay dough rabbit. I then wrote baby girl in darker pink frosting on the top. I bought all my decorations from the craft company online which were really good. Finally I added some plastic blocks to the side which spell baby for the finishing touch.
